Today, I am talking about what I would wear on a typical night out featuring a little leather and lace. Dressing for a night out is a bit more difficult than one would think when you live in the Midwest…there’s always the question of “how dressed up is too dressed up?” or “is it worth it to wear a coat?”. Although these questions might seem ridiculous, as a newly turned twenty-one year old, I can attest to the relevance of these questions when making the trip to the bars.

Starting with the denim… I have to admit that I’m addicted to wearing these jeans. Ironically, I bought these wide-leg jeans a few years back and they are just now starting to make a trendy comeback. These jeans exceed my comfort expectations and work great with multiple different types of shoes; here, I am wearing chunky open-toed heels but the heels can easily be switched out for any type of tall ankle booties. Wearing shoes with a bit of height makes your legs naturally appear longer and tall shoes are almost a necessity when wearing flair jeans. Also, I’m  5’ 4” so nine times out of ten you’ll find me wearing some type of heel regardless of my jean choice. Paired with my outfit is a slightly low cut, black cotton tank with a simple bralette underneath to add girly detail and texture against the leather jacket. Having a leather jacket is a must when going out because it keeps me warm while walking to the bars but doesn’t make me feel over heated once inside of the bar. The necklace I chose to wear definitly brings a glamorous element to the look but if you’re wanting to feel more casual, taking off the necklace or replacing it with a smaller chain necklace is an easy fix. My purse is a boxy cross body bag that is capable of fitting all of the going out essentials; a great purchase that I highly recommend. My boxy bag wouldn’t be complete without my Fendi purse charm… just kidding. Fendi purse charms are to die for but I don’t exactly have $1,000 to drop on one so I settled for an Etsy knock-off instead.
