A few weeks back, one of my ever so talented friends reached out to me and asked me to be a part of her college campus blogging project. Without hesitation, I agreed to do the shoot and I was very pleased with the outcome of our little styling session. Here’s what went down during our winter trip to old stomping grounds…

I wanted to put together an ensemble of simple pieces that can be found in any winter wardrobe. Starting out with a black long-sleeved shirt, I added a blanket-like shawl overtop for warmth and texture. This shawl is one of my favorite pieces not only because of it’s versatility, but also because it is surprisingly warm for it being sleeveless. Denim skinny jeans are also a basic but I opted for a pair of pants that brought a bit of pattern to the look. The detail of the black stripe down the sides of each leg is a subtle element against the different shades of army green that makes the pants stand out. I accessorized nicely with a slightly androgynous pea coat, velvet ankle booties, and a floppy hat. Wearing a hat solves any bad hair day and helps you avoid styling your hair so, I took it upon myself to tie my hair back into a messy bun… a great trick when you want to look more put together than you actually are. I threw on a few vintage jewelry pieces and a dark lip and alas, I was ready to conquer the day. A perfect outfit for any sort of Sunday date.
