Hey party people… I’m back at it again! Today I paired up with Jeffrey Collins, an Omaha based photographer. I’ll let you in on a little secret; the best talent is found when and where you’re least expecting to find it and there’s nothing I love more than working with others to collaborate together. Jeffrey and I just happen to meet and ended up having a few mutual friends. Taking his love for photography and my love for fashion, this shoot is all about a black on black summer look.

If you didn’t already know this, black is my favorite color… it’s classic, chic, and edgy all at the same time and not to mention, it matches everything. Over the years I’ve slowly but surely turned my wardrobe from a preppy hot mess (weird phase, I don’t want to talk about it) into an ‘all black everything’ sophisticated fashionista look. Although it’s not fully there yet, I’m working on it (think NYC grunge meets everyday Londoner). Point being, if someone has ever told you that you can’t wear black in the summertime, they’re wrong. Also last time I checked, there are no rules in fashion. Black jeans are a must in my wardrobe so I paired them with a trendy lacy front slip tank-top along with my favorite black studded ankle booties to create the base for this look. Denim jackets are a great piece to throw over any outfit; I usually go for an oversized one but for the summer time, I chose one that’s a bit more fitted and slim cut. Accessories wise, I wore the infamous $3 green ascot… ascots have been my recent obsession and I’m working on incorporating them into more everyday outfits. Let’s not forget the bag; a black and white contrasting grommet purse that screams ‘buy me’ (I couldn’t resist, clearly). Lastly, I am totally head-over-heels for these green tinted aviators and wrecking ball dangly earrings; these accessories pull summer trends together in a subtle but fun way.

Alas, we have reached the end of yet another blog post. Thanks for reading and I hope to be blogging more soon!
